Our Team
Our Purpose, as the California State University, Monterey Bay Equestrian Club, is to educate the importance and benefit of a college Sports Club to the health of its student community and to provide access to equine activities on a proper horsemanship level including: equine care/appreciation, a safe environment, understanding of the English or Western riding discipline, leadership, and an overall sense of good sportsmanship. It is the intention of the program to increase physical, mental, and social development of its participants through a well rounded base of knowledge and interaction with the equine and team members. The CSUMB Equestrian Club also includes a volunteer program, where the members will learn the basics of maintaining a horse as well as feeling confident and comfortable working with horses.
Beginning Fall 2017, the CSUMB Equestrian Western Team are members of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Zone 8 Region 1. We are excited to have to opportunity to compete against other colleges in our region! Keep an eye out for our show schedule and please come out and support the CSUMB Equestrians.
